Filling in as church secretary is like watching a human psychology study in action. Oh, the job is fine, the tasks are mundane and necessary, but the people! The people who call and try to weasel information, the people who say yes to every request, but never actually get around to accomplishing it, the people who come in and tell jokes that would shock me even if I weren't in the Lord's House. There are also many who are encouraging, who are so glad to see me in the office and who are ready to help when needed. These months at home, I had just forgotten how interesting, and tiring, people interactions can be.
I went to the doctor on Friday, having been sick for nearly four weeks and was told that I've got bronchitis, sinusitis, laryngitis and an eye infection. Guess it wasn't just a bad cold. I've felt totally crummy, but kept telling myself that I could just tough it out. Not so much. Antibiotics are helping and I am feeling 75% normal, as opposed to the 12.33% normal that I felt last week.
Our German Shorthair/Lab puppy went to his new home on Sunday and the cats have moved to the gargage. I haven't had to clean up any animal wastes in 48 hours. This is quite a rarity around here.. it's one of the things you get used to when fostering puppies. We've had 9 successful adoptions so far. I think we are taking a break for the summer. I will only be home on weekends, due to my job, and Corey will be working lots of hours with his. Just doesn't leave much extra time.
Walker, now "Rowdy" Sounds like he is loving the new home, new kids and dogs and training very quickly.
